In Notion, paste it on an empty line and choose Embed.

At a glance

This free calendar widget shows the current month on any Notion page with today circled. Pick a mini month calendar, a phone style calendar with today’s date next to the month, a one-week strip or a tear-off desk calendar page, set your colors and font, then copy the link. In Notion, paste the link and choose Embed. Everyone who opens the page sees today on their own device, the week starts on Sunday or Monday, and the calendar moves to the next day at midnight on its own. There’s nothing to sign up for and no watermark.

How to add it to Notion

  1. Pick a look above, change the colors or font if you like, and click Copy link.

  2. Open your Notion page, click an empty line where the calendar should go and paste the link. In the Paste as menu, choose Embed.

  3. That’s it: the calendar is live on your page. Drag the bottom edge of the embed to make it taller or shorter, and the calendar fits itself to the box.

Calendar styles

Each style below is one click away in the preview. Change any of them with your own colors and font.

Mini month calendar

The whole month in a small grid with today in a red circle. With Notion colors and no background it looks like part of the page, and it stays small enough for a sidebar column.

Phone style calendar

Today’s weekday and date in big type next to the month, like the calendar widget on a phone’s home screen. It uses your device’s own font.

Sunday or Monday start

The week starts the way each viewer’s region does: Sunday in the US, Monday in most of Europe. To pick one for everyone, choose it under Week starts on. This sage green week starts on Monday.

Dark mode

With Notion colors and no background, the numbers turn light when your device is in dark mode, so the calendar sits on a dark page like any other block. To keep it dark all the time, choose Always dark under Your Notion page.

Questions

Is this Notion calendar widget free?

Yes. Every look and setting is free, with no account, no trial and no watermark.

Does it work on the free Notion plan?

Yes. It’s a regular Notion embed, and embeds work on every Notion plan, the free one included.

Is this the Notion Calendar app?

No. This widget sits on your Notion pages and shows the month with today circled. Notion Calendar is Notion’s separate calendar app that connects to Google Calendar.

Can it show my events or Google Calendar?

No. It shows dates only, so there’s nothing to connect and no account to sign in to. For events in Notion, use a database with a calendar view.

Does the week start on Sunday or Monday?

It follows each viewer’s region: Sunday in the US, Monday in most of Europe. To set one for everyone, open Customize and choose it under Week starts on.

Does today change on its own?

Yes. The calendar checks the date every minute, so a page left open moves to the next day at midnight. Each person sees today on their own device.

How do I see other months?

Hover over the calendar and use the arrows next to the month name, then click the month name to come back to today. To hide the arrows, untick Arrows to other months before you copy the link.

How do I make the calendar bigger or smaller?

Drag the bottom edge of the embed in Notion. The calendar grows and shrinks to fit the box. For a small calendar, put it in a column next to another block.

Does the widget collect any data?

No. There are no cookies, no analytics and no sign-in. Your settings live in the link itself, and the calendar runs in your own browser.
